Allerginil (Mepyramine 5% Injection)
Indications:
Allerginil Injection is indicated in disorders known to respond to antihistamine therapy e.g., utricaria, rhinitis, anaphylactic shock and allergic reactions. It aborts the effects of histamine release thereby providing relief in above conditions.
Composition:
Each ml contains:
Mepyramine Maleate B.P 50 mg
Mode of action:
Mepyramine, also known as pyrilamine, is a first generation antihistamine, targeting the hi receptor. However, it rapidly permeates the brain often causing drowsiness. It also has anticholinergic properties.
Dosage and Administration
Cattle / Buffalo / Horse: 10 – 20 ml I/M.
Sheep / Goat: 3 – 5 ml I/M only.
Dog / Cat: 1 – 2 ml I/M or S/C.
Repeat after 8 – 10 hours, if required.
Precautions For Use
Keep out of reach of children.
Store at room temperature.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
Do not use for more than 3 days.
